Starting the day with a lack of sleep is indeed an unpleasant thing. For an employee, this certainly has an impact on performance.
Launching The Guardian, Thursday (01/10/2019), Japan received the title as a country with a poor sleep duration community. Especially for people who work as employees.
A survey showed that the average sleep time for male and female employees in Japan is 6 hours 35 minutes in one day. This meant that they slept 45 minutes less than the international average. These results were obtained after researchers conducted a survey in 28 countries and compared them.

In line with that, a health product company, Fuji Ryoki, conducted a study and revealed that 92.6 percent of Japanese people over the age of 20 experience lack of sleep.
The decreased performance due to lack of sleep can then have an impact on the country's economy. A research company, RAND Corporation even revealed that Japan experienced economic losses of up to 138 billion US dollars, or the equivalent of 2.4 trillion rupiah each year.

The big loss also triggered companies in Japan to make a related policy. Some companies finally allow employees to close their eyes and sleep for a moment.
